Endex builds an AI-powered digital coworker native to Microsoft Excel, using finance-tuned LLMs to help financial professionals research, reconcile and cite data.
Endex is building an AI-powered digital coworker that runs natively inside Microsoft Excel, aimed squarely at financial professionals. The product is engineered on large language models built for finance rather than general-purpose models, and is designed to sit alongside analysts as a working colleague inside the spreadsheet. Its capabilities include deep research integration, reconciling sources that disagree with one another, and verifying AI-generated outputs with integrated citations. A second product, a unified searchable data environment, brings internal files, external data and trusted sources into one place so that financial teams and their AI agents work from a complete picture.
The engineering work spans large language models for finance, AI agents, natural language processing, deep research integration, source reconciliation and citation verification, financial document understanding, and data search and unification. For those working at the intersection of engineering and go-to-market, the company offers a technical environment in which citation accuracy, source trust and data plumbing are product features rather than footnotes.
Endex raised $14m in August 2025, with backing from the OpenAI Startup Fund. Its clients include private equity firms managing more than $100bn in assets, publicly traded real estate developers, leading investment banks, Fortune 500 finance teams and global multi-strategy hedge funds. The industry verticals it serves run from investment banking and private equity to hedge funds, corporate finance, real estate development and accounting.
The company describes its outlook in explicit terms: it expects AI agents to work alongside analysts at every major financial institution, and positions itself as a bridge across that transition for financial professionals. Its posture is enterprise-oriented, built for large institutional buyers.
