Funding Circle

Funding Circle is a British financial technology company founded in 2010 and the UK's leading SME finance platform. It provides fast business loans and other financing products to small and medium-sized enterprises through an online institutional lending platform. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and employs approximately 800 people, operating primarily in the United Kingdom.

Its products span business loans of £10,000 to £750,000, with decisions in as little as one hour and funds typically deposited within 48 hours; FlexiPay, a line of credit repayable over 1-12 months; a Cashback Business Credit Card offering up to 2% cashback; government-backed Growth Guarantee Scheme loans; and asset finance delivered through specialist partner networks. To date the platform has facilitated over £15 billion in loans to more than 130,000 businesses. Technical work covers fintech, online lending, credit decisioning and underwriting, payments and digital wallets, and financial services technology.

The company was founded to give small businesses funding when traditional banks were failing them after the Global Financial Crisis, and it emphasises speed of service against slower conventional banking processes. It has recently expanded its payment ecosystem with digital wallet integrations and sponsors Premiership Rugby.
