Matia

Matia builds a unified DataOps platform combining ETL, reverse ETL, data observability and a data catalog for data, engineering and AI teams.

Matia is a unified DataOps platform that consolidates ETL, reverse ETL, data observability and a data catalog into a single end-to-end system for moving, monitoring and viewing data. The company positions the platform as a replacement for juggling seven separate tools, with observability placed earlier in pipelines so unreliable systems can be detected sooner. Data, engineering and AI teams use it to gain more control over their DataOps, AI systems and business outcomes.

The product spans data integration and movement (ETL), reverse ETL for operationalising data back into business tools, observability for pipeline monitoring, and a catalog for viewing and governing data. Technical domains at the company include data engineering, DataOps, data pipeline monitoring, AI infrastructure and data integration. Before building, the founding team spoke with more than 100 data leaders to shape the product.

Matia was founded by operators Ben and Geva Segal, who led data and engineering teams before starting the company, and follows a pragmatic product philosophy summarised internally as "Less headaches, more functionality". It is backed by investors including Red Dot Capital Partners and Leaders Fund, and counts data teams at Ramp, Honeybook, Drata and Lemonade among its customers. Industry verticals served include fintech and financial services, SaaS, insurance, and security and compliance software.

Go-to-market work is run by a remote team across North America, with research and development centralised in Tel Aviv, Israel.
