Dust

Dust builds an enterprise AI platform for deploying, orchestrating and governing fleets of AI agents connected to company knowledge and tools, used by 5,000+ organisations.

Dust, founded in 2023 by Gabriel Hubert and Stanislas Polu, builds the Dust platform: an AI operating system for the modern enterprise. The product lets teams deploy, orchestrate, and govern fleets of specialised AI agents connected to company knowledge and tools, providing what the firm describes as universal AI primitives, analogous to the universal UI primitives Windows once offered. The technical scope spans AI agents, LLM orchestration, knowledge retrieval and integration, tool integration and agentic workflows, with governance built in.

The platform serves more than 5,000 organisations. Customers include Cursor, Clay, Whatnot, Persona and 1Password. The company is backed by Sequoia, and its team is drawn from Stripe, OpenAI and other technology firms. It operates in the enterprise software and technology verticals.

Internally, Dust describes a small, high-impact team in which engineers have wide scope and everyone ships to production daily. The firm says it focuses intensely on users, ships fast, and does not take itself too seriously while building serious things, on the conviction that connecting AI models to how work actually happens will fundamentally transform productivity.
