Nautilus Solar Energy develops, builds, and operates community solar farms serving over 55,000 residential and commercial subscribers across multiple U.S. states.
Nautilus Solar Energy is a community solar company founded in 2006 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The firm develops, builds, and operates solar farms that allow residential and commercial customers to subscribe to local clean energy without installing rooftop panels or making upfront investments, with subscribers receiving guaranteed savings on electricity bills. It reports more than 55,000 subscribers across multiple U.S. states.
The company manages the full project lifecycle in-house: renewable energy project financing, solar farm development and construction, long-term asset operations and maintenance, and customer subscription management and billing. This spans work in solar energy development, community solar, sustainable land management, and carbon reduction and environmental impact.
Nautilus is owned by Power Sustainable. Its stated approach centres on equitable access to clean energy regardless of income or homeownership status, on minimising environmental impact through site selection and sustainable land management, and on combining renewable energy expertise with community-focused values.
